What’s in Your Purse FAQ

How can I participate?

Click here to express interest and schedule a 15-minute chat with me.

Do I have to live in a senior community to participate?

No; I work with women aged 45 and older, wherever they call home. While the project is inspired by Sophia’s purse, women in all stages of aging experience identify shift.

Where do we meet?

In your home or a community setting such as a quiet cafe or the park.

Is this safe?

I have Level One fingerprint and CPR/First Aid certifications and extensive experience working with adults and seniors, including those experiencing Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Can’t we meet virtually?

Not currently. What’s in Your Purse is designed to foster meaningful connection, which generally favors face-to-face engagement. Virtual sessions may be offered in the future.

What if I don’t know what to say?

Let your purse do the talking! I’m an experienced conversationalist and can guide the conversation when that feels right for you.

Will I be recorded?

No. This is about reminiscing and listening with presence. Requests to record our conversations will be honored.

Will I be photographed?

Pictures of your purse and contents are photographed. Some participants may choose to be photographed.

What happens to the photos and reflection from our visit?

You will receive digital copies of the reflection and all photographs. They may also be shared on social media or other program advocacy outlets such as newsletters or program guides.

Can I share my experience?

Please do! I’d love to collaborate on social posts or repost on the What’s in Your Purse page. Photos and written reflection must include artist acknowledgement.

When will I receive the photos and reflection?

Photos and reflection will be delivered digitally within two weeks of our session.

Do I have to be a woman?

You must identify as a woman to participate.
